Star Wars

Norank and John Scoonraad were fortunate to have worked on the early Star Wars trilogy. See more details in 'About Us'. We’ll soon be doing some interviews with people who worked at and are still working in Elstree who were involved at the time. Norank made parts for: the Landspeeder, Lightsabers, R2-D2, C3PO, the X-Wings, the Millennium Falcon and much more.

The picture below shows Malcolm Page, Harry Hankin and Geoff Burnstein, working on the original R2-D2 in Noranks workshop! Malcolm sadly passed away October 2006. He died telling a joke to his family, and was one of the funniest and kindest people. He will be sadly missed. Norank worked closely with the late John Stears, and purchased all of his prop collection . We have the original Droid manuals for all the robots, and have published some pages below to help anyone making the Stick Robot. If you would like more information on the droid manuals then please email us here

Below is an article about Nick Harrison from the Star Wars magazine!

Our own C3PO (above) cast from original parts. The eyes were made by Michell Engineering, who made the originals! Contact us for more information.  Our C3PO is used to promote the studios and for Charity Events.

We have many original pieces which we will never sell but we have decided to put these original concept sketches up online to share them with Star Wars Fans and collectors. They are not high enough resolution to be printed! These came from Norman Reynolds office and are beautifully drawn by Joe Johnson. They are also the ORIGINAL Dye-lines! These have ink titles on, so all others are copies and were reproduced from these. Note the Millennium Falcon is the “Pirate Ship”! These are from BEFORE the first film! Please feel free to browse but don’t copy these, they are copyright LucasFilms!

For those of you making your own droids, we have all the ORIGINAL droid manuals! We have decided to release some details of the Stick Robot to show you how much work goes into just one droid! Use these for reference but do not
copy them!

We will be adding more notes from Heads of Department plus other documents from John Stears collection from the great Star Wars films for the true fans to enjoy.
