We are extremely pleased to be working alongside and sharing premises with John Schoonraad and his two sons Robin and Tristan.  We met at Elstree Studios when John and Tristan were in making moulds, lifecasting and making prosthetic pieces for the upcoming film 'kick Ass'.  We got talking one day over a cup of coffee about my premises at the studios and the fact that I was running out of room and we came up with the idea of us sharing a much bigger premises.  In February of this year, we got together and looked at various units avilable at the studios and found a suitable venue that both of us could work from.  We took on a Workshop that was a completely empty unit and have since added two mezzanines, a Gallery and a Workshop.  You can see the progress of the new location here.

John Schoonraad has been lifecasting for film, television and the arts for some twenty years.  This amounts to over a thousand lifecasts, from hands, feet, heads to full bodies.  In recent years John has been joined by his sons Tristan and Robin, who themselves are accomplished mould makers and FX technicians.

In 2003, an audience of 500 saw John and his sons (plus 2 lovely assistants!) demonstrate at the trade show a full body lifecast, in just 45 minutes and followed up with a full length arm cast in alginate, which was seamless. People have been asking him to teach, ever since this time. We will keep you informed on this site about upcoming classes in the summer!

John has always sought challenges in his work, both as a Lifecaster and prosthetic make-up artist, in the world of TV and feature films.

Johns first film at Elstree Studios was Green Ice (starring Omar Sharif), which then led on to other films like; Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Indiana Jones, Event Horizon, Saving Private Ryan, Guest House Paradiso, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, The Four Feathers, Troy, Highlander, 28 Days Later, Lost in Space, Casino Royale and Rambo (2008).
